From The Daily Dish (written by a reader)

Has it occurred to you that all the unbelievable imagery of the protests is, pixel by pixel, etching itself in the memory of the world and of course now or later back through the satellite dishes and Internet connections into the brains of all Iranians, as an indelible revolutionary iconography that will, over time, supplant the revolutionary mythology of the Republic’s founding, on which so much of the regime’s legitimacy depends? The way I see it, that truly horrific footage of the conservatively dressed woman bleeding out will do more damage to Ahmadi and Khamenei than any military strike ever could. I think the old Revolutionary era is ending.

You have to go there and read the tweets coming in from Iran. Read it all. This is all at the same time inspiring, invigorating and devastating.

I’m sorry to deluge you with this stuff today, but I’m leaving the house for the rest of the day if it’s any consolation.

Read it all. Now!

halfbakedidea:

CAMEL IN A CAR

You know driving around with camels must be annoying, because like every 3000 miles they’re going to want you to pull over so they can go to the bathroom.

Here is a video of those same camels, not only do you always have to pull over so they can use the bathroom, they are also loud: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JMzOSpMBYM

My first bike (via myself)

My first bike (via myself)

Dad and Mum in the summer of ‘85 (via myself)

Dad and Mum in the summer of ‘85 (via myself)

My Top 5 Artists (Week Ending 2009-6-14)

My Top 5 Artists (Week Ending 2009-6-14):

I had to go and pick up my brother because he had been drinking with his friends and a taxi ride back home would be pretty expensive. On they way back I could actually see the orange ball that we call the sun above the mountain ridges that line the fjord I live in but when we got home it had disappeared behind them because we live lower then the main road home is. So I took this photo again in front of my parents house, the phone is just pointed a little bit more east. I wonder if we did get any darkness tonight since at 1 am we still had lots of light and at 3 am the sun was coming up. At least I can come to the conclusion that if you are a person that needs darkness to fall asleep, Iceland in the summertime might not be for you, and if you insist on coming, bring thick drapes with you.
