ORA Grænar baunir by Daníel Starrason on Flickr.Talking about canned goods. This thing here is a can of green beans. If you visit an Icelandic family for dinner and they serve you lamb meat with gravy, potatoes (a.k.a. the standard dinner when I was growing up) and everything that is supposed to come that that kind of dinner but they don’t serve ORA green beans then get out as quick as you can. Because you aren’t in Iceland and that family isn’t Icelandic. I can’t tell you where you are, you will have to figure that out for yourself, but I can tell you that you are in danger.
I actually never ate them as a kid (because I’m not a rabbit and things like salad didn’t hit the Icelandic country side until I was about 15 so I couldn’t complain about them) but now I can’t have a proper meaty meal in Iceland without them. Weird how things change.
Anyway, thanks all for reading this rambling nonsense of mine. I’ll now go and try to find some turkey to eat here in Denmark.
